Polish Heritage in Scotland
A digital archive and community engagement tool: we're mapping and documenting monuments, memorial plaques, cemeteries and remembrance sites tied to Polish history in Scotland, and supporting the coordination of clean-up and remembrance activities around them.
What is the Poloniki portal?
Poloniki — Polish Heritage in Scotland is a bilingual (Polish/English) interactive portal and digital archive documenting places of Polish national heritage in Scotland — monuments, memorial plaques, cemeteries, remembrance sites, and locations tied to Polish socio-cultural activity.
The portal will also support community coordination around these places — clean-up actions and remembrance ceremonies — and, through English-language content on the historical contribution of Poles to the region, build shared understanding with the wider Scottish community.
In the long run, it's meant to become a lasting tool for protecting, promoting and maintaining these sites, and for engaging the Polish diaspora (Polonia) in Scotland — both adults and the younger generation — around a shared history.
Polonik Café — a monthly meeting at the Sikorski Memorial House in Glasgow — is part of this same, wider activity and feeds content into this portal.

Not yet. The map, photo gallery and place database are still being built. This page will be updated once the first version of the portal launches.
How is the Poloniki portal different from Polonik Café?
Polonik Café is a monthly cultural meeting at the Sikorski Memorial House in Glasgow (polonik.uk). Poloniki is a separate, wider project documenting Polish heritage across Scotland, which that activity feeds into.
